Goals of this workshop are to:
Increase awareness of the Transgender experience
Educate participants on Transgender terminology, difference between being a transgender vs cross-dresser, and the differences between sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and biological sex/gender
Provide information around 2 phases and 3 aspects of transitioning
Discuss ethical concerns and gain insight around societal challenges in efforts to best support TG clients
Support participants in increasing self-awareness through uncovering personal biases and prejudices regarding transgender experience through experiential activities
Learn “gender affirming” protocol
Highlight and increase awareness regarding cultural hardships and discrimination experienced daily by transgender people
Know when to refer and how to discover reliable resources in your area

Qigong Classes

Qigong combines physical postures, breathing, and focused intention to improve health, balance, and mental well-being. Join us as we use the gentle practice of Qigong to bring mindful awareness to our present experience and light a path of wellness before us. Classes are taught by Julie Cannon, one of our Sage Center counselors. Come as you are. No special clothing or equipment is required. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
